POP PRODIGY

Welcome to the worldwide search for the POP PRODIGY. a pop music piano competition for young artists. the first of its kind!

This contest is open to all young pianists (4-25 y.o.) across the globe.

There are 3 age groups:

  1. 9 years old and under*

    • prize: $300 + medal

  2. 10-13 years old*

    • prize: $500 + medal

  3. 14-19 years old*

    • prize: $700 + medal

... and 2 special categories!!!

1. Improvisation 1 (4 to 19 years old)*

  • prize: $300 + medal

2. improvisation 2 (20-25 years old)*

  • prize: $500 + MEDAL

how to join? it is so simple.  first, register. second, submit an unedited video of your performance of the contest piece for your category.  that's it!

Elzar Simon Publishing is a US-based music publishing company and a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).

Its core mission is to create, produce and publish original songs for film, albums, and advertisements. The company also specializes in producing music videos. 

Its most recent releases in the United States include the Love Letters album, You Are My Only Love (single, Korean version, artist: Helen Miko), Des Rêves album (music for film, artist: Simon and Rush), and Best of All (Christmas song, artist: Alyssa Jade).  Love Letters, Des Rêves and Best of All are available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and many other digital streaming services.

The Des Rêves album was launched in midtown Manhattan (beside Carnegie Hall)  and in Santa Monica, California, and was attended by prominent music and film industry people. 

The primary artist in residence of Elzar Simon Publishing is Mr. Elzar Simon, an engineer, IT executive, and multi-awarded songwriter with credits that include Lea Salonga (Broadway and Disney star), Angela Workman (performed with Ray Charles, Prince, and Spyro Gyra), Lani Misalucha (voted Best Singer in the 27th annual Best of Las Vegas poll), Jed Madela (Winner of World Championships of Performing Art), Sharon Cuneta (The Voice Philippines), and other major artists like Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, among many others.

Mr. Simon won the Grand Prize with Mr. Danny Tan in the 1997 Asia Song Festival in Hong Kong for the song “You Lift Me Up”, which was interpreted by Jaya. The Chairman of the Board of Judges in the 1997 Asia Song Festival was the legendary songwriter Hal David, who was the co-writer of the world famous singer-songwriter Burt Bacharach.  

Mr. Simon also won the 1997 Musika Manila International Songwriting Competition for the song “One More Time”, interpreted by Lani Misalucha.  He likewise won the Grand Prize in the 1999 Metro Manila Song Festival for the song “Can’t Stop Loving You”, interpreted by Lani Misalucha.

Mr. Simon was President of the Organization of Filipino Composers (KATHA, 1995-2000) and Vice-President of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (FILSCAP, 1995-1999), which is the counterpart of ASCAP in the Philippines.
